Registration procedure:

Minimum age: 16 years

You can register for the courses offered by the Language Centre of the University of Vienna either online or in person.
A firm reservation for your place on the course will not be made until payment of the course fee has been remitted to our account, on a first-come, first-served basis according to the date of payment.  Should you be prevented from attending the course, you must issue written cancellation (by e-mail: sprachenzentrum@univie.ac.at or by post) before the start of the course without fail or you will be charged the full course fee.

When registering in person, please complete the registration form. You will be given a pay-in slip or can pay in cash or with a Bankomatkarte (cash card).
 
 
Once the amount has been remitted to our account, you will be e-mailed confirmation of payment, listing all relevant information about the course. Please note that places on courses are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis according to the date of payment.

The reduced course fee of 255.- euros applies to students of all Austrian universities and universities of applied science who are registered in the relevant semester. In this case please provide us with your student registration number and a valid sheet from a Studienbuch (study record) if you have one. The reduced course fee of 145.- euros only applies to recipients of student grants of the University of Vienna, and the official grant notification for the relevant semester must be submitted:
For courses taking place in the Winter Semester and February the notification of continuation of study for the relevant Winter Semester must be submitted, or for courses taking place in the Summer Semester and July notification for the Summer Semester.
This also applies to the official notification about the award of a student grant.
If incorrect data is provided, the full course fee will be charged. We will be obliged to also apply an additional handling fee of 20.- euros.

If a discount is availed of on the basis of membership of a particular body (ÖDaF, Alumni Association of the University of Vienna), payment of the membership fee for the calendar year at issue shall be considered proof of current membership.

• Data Privacy Protection:

  Participants’ private information shall be saved and processed electronically and treated with utmost confidentiality. Your personal information shall neither be divulged nor made available to third parties, except to fulfil legal obligations, and shall be utilised exclusively for internal purposes.

  
  
• Certificate of attendance:
  Please note that you must have attended 80% of classes if we are to issue a certificate of attendance.
  
• Participants in course:
  The number of participants in the courses offered by the Language Centre of the University of Vienna is limited to a maximum of 14. Courses will take place with the full extent (Intensive Courses held in July 40 units, Semester courses/Intensive Courses held in February 39 units) if there are at least 10 people in the course. If the number of participants in a course is lower than 10 people, it is at the discretion of the Language Centre whether the course will take place, being shortened however by one session. In this case the Intensive Courses held in July will consist of 36 tuition units instead of 40, and the Semester courses / Intensive Courses in February 36 instead of 39 units.
   

The Language Centre reserves the right to cancel courses. In the event of cancellation any payments already effected will be immediately refunded. In the event of sickness on the part of the tutor the course will be held by a suitable substitute or in exceptional cases, cancelled sessions will be made up at the end of the course.
