What is "Strobl"?

I will get right to the point: Strobl is a magical place you will never forget.

The beauty of the Salzkammergut (where Strobl is located) is unique and breathtaking. Lake Wolfgangsee (where you will spend most of your leisure time) is one of the most beautiful places you will ever see. The clear air as well as the refreshing water stimulates the senses and gives you strength after an interesting but challenging day of learning and studying.

I can promise you one thing: After the program you will miss the magnificence of this place and indulge in reminiscences.

Will I meet nice people there?

Oh yes, you will!

What I liked most about the program was the cultural exchange: I have met many interesting and intelligent people from all over the world who have helped me to get to know their countries better and to understand their customs and traditions.

Through learning together, preparing presentations, and through animated and exciting discussions about the subject matter as well as private topics, friendships for life have developed that I would not want to miss anymore.

In Strobl you have to deal with many different kinds of people, but all of them are incredibly friendly: There are the funny ones, the shy ones, the super-intelligent ones, the helpful ones, the sporting aces, the musicians, the artists, etc.
The great thing is that you will surely meet a lot of people there with whom you will get along very well. It just makes the summer a lot more enjoyable when you can spend it together with amazing students from other countries.

What about studying?

What about studying?

The learning program was very versatile, exciting and very well planned. The professors always succeeded in making the lessons varied and creative by showing thrilling films, letting the students make presentations, initiating discussion rounds in the interdisciplinary courses or planning role plays (etc.). This made it much easier to memorize the subject matter for our final exams.

Furthermore, you can exchange ideas with other students and gain new perspectives on specific topics. The central focus in my time was on "Brexit". It was incredibly interesting to discuss it with English students in class. This gave you a better understanding of what "Brexit" means in their daily lives and made the topic much more exciting. We were always invited to share and exchange our own opinions and ideas with the other students in class, but the discussions often even continued in the leisure time.

As far as leisure activities are concerned, you will never get bored in Strobl. The sports program has a lot to offer: from tennis and frisbee to windsurfing and hiking, there is something for everyone. Even if you are not very athletic, it is incredible fun to try out new sports. Alternatively, you can simply tan in the warm sunshine and cool off in the crystal clear water of Lake Wolfgang. Honestly, this was so much better than any beach vacation!

In addition, many excursions were organized such as our one-day trips to St. Wolfgang and Salzburg (city). In Salzburg we had a great time at the trick fountains in the Hellbrunn Palace and explored the Fortress Hohensalzburg. Furthermore, every evening there were small get-togethers or even big parties (e.g.: a bad taste party).
